In April 2026, Łukasz Rusek, M.Sc., of the Fertilizer Research Group at Łukasiewicz – New Chemical Syntheses Institute in Puławy, defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, receiving a doctoral degree in the discipline of agriculture and horticulture. The dissertation was prepared in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry.
The dissertation entitled. “Research on the technology of production of slow-release encapsulated fertilizers and their effect on yield and quality parameters of plants” concerned the development of technology for the production of fertilizers with controlled release of nutrients. The research focused on increasing fertilizer efficiency while reducing mineral losses to the environment.
The results confirmed the beneficial effect of the developed fertilizers on yield and quality parameters of plants, indicating their significant application potential. The developed solutions can find application in modern sustainable agriculture, responding to the growing needs for rational fertilizer management and reducing environmental pressures.
