Carbon monoxide methanation catalysts – RANG-19, RANG-19(L), RANG-35, RANG-19PR, RANG-19(L)PR, RANG-35PR
Application
RANG series catalysts (RANG-19, RANG-19(L), RANG-35) and RANG-PR (RANG-19PR, RANG-19(L)PR, RANG-35PR) are designed for deep removal of carbon oxides from synthesis gases and hydrogen by conversion to methane. In ammonia plants, this process is the final step in the purification of hydrogen and synthesis gases from carbon oxides, which are the poison of the iron catalyst of ammonia synthesis.
Characteristics
RANG-19, RANG-19(L), RANG-35 (oxide form) and RANG-19PR, RANG-19(L)-PR, RANG-35PR (prereduced form) catalysts are nickel catalysts of the co-precipitated type. The active ingredient is nickel metal, formed by reduction of the catalyst in an industrial reactor. The RANG-19(L) and RANG-19(L)-PR versions of the catalyst are dedicated to low-temperature applications. The catalysts are produced in the form of balls with diameters in the range of 4-6 mm.
