Benzene hydrogenation catalyst – KUB-3
Application
The KUB-3 catalyst is designed for the hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexane, i.e. the first step in the production of cyclohexanol – an intermediate in caprolactam production technology. KUB-3 can also be used in other hydrogenation processes.
Characteristics
KUB-3 catalyst is a nickel catalyst of the co-precipitated type. The active ingredient of the catalyst is metallic nickel in a highly dispersed state. The catalyst is offered in the form of balls with a diameter of 4-6 mm.
Operating parameters
- Temperature [°C]: 160 ÷ 240
- Pressure [bar]: up to 15
Operational advantages:
- high and stable activity
- High selectivity of hydrogenation to cyclohexane
- possibility of quick activation of the catalyst
- high mechanical strength
- low and stable flow resistance
