Micronization Laboratory

Home page About Us Research Groups Micronization Laboratory

Business Profile

  • Micronization of API active substances into human and veterinary medicinal products.
  • Small-scale grinding and micronization of inorganic and organic raw materials.
  • Laboratory trials of grinding and micronization.
  • Particle size measurement of solids with grain classification.

Apparatus

Grinding equipment:

  • Hosokawa Alpine’s grinding and separating unit with interchangeable modules, operating under GMP:
    • 100 AFG anti-draft mill,
    • 50 ATP separator,
    • 100 AS spiral jet mill.
  • Alpine 160 UPZ impact mill – for obtaining grain size above 60 micrometers, for industrial trials and continuous production – small volume.
  • “Fritsch” laboratory impact and ball mills.

Particle size analysis:

  • Beckman Coulter’s LS 13320 laser particle size analyzer -measures particle size distribution in suspensions, emulsions and dry powders, equipped with two sample preparation modules:
    • Air dispersion attachment, so called “dry” – TORNADO- measuring range: 0.4 µm to 2000 µm,
    • Liquid dispersion attachment, so called “wet” – ULM- measurement range 0.04 µm to 2000 µm.
  • Zeiss AXIOSKOP 2 optical microscope – observation in transmitted light of particles above 1.5 μm.

Other devices:

  • crusher,
  • vibrating sifter.
