On May 19-22, 2026, Lukasiewicz – New Chemical Syntheses Institute participated in Plastpol 2026 in Kielce, presenting the activities of the Biodegradable Polymers Research Group, which specializes in the development and processing of polymeric materials, including biodegradable and biobased plastics.
The group carries out work in the field of designing polymer compositions with specific functional and processing properties, their characterization, and the selection and optimization of processing technologies, such as extrusion, injection molding or thermoforming. The activity also includes the evaluation of the possibility of processing materials and support for the implementation of their processing in industrial conditions.
Participation in the fair made it possible to hold discussions with industry representatives on such issues as the use of materials with reduced environmental impact, recycling issues and technological aspects related to processing and product quality. The presence of representatives from the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Polymer Materials and the Łukasiewicz – Tele- and Radio Research Institute complemented the range of competencies presented.
