Catalysts for high-temperature decomposition of nitrous oxide – PKR-1, PKR-2, PKR-3
Application
PKR series catalysts are dedicated to the high-temperature decomposition of nitrous oxide(I), (N2O), which is formed during ammonia oxidation. The catalyst bed is placed directly under the ammonia oxidation catalytic grids without the need to reconstruct the ammonia oxidation reactor.
Characteristics
The PKR series catalysts (PKR-1, PKR-2 and PKR-3) are precipitate-type systems, and their main components are active iron (III) oxide and aluminum oxide, imparting high mechanical strength.
PKR series catalysts are produced in several variants: in the form of tablets (PKR1), cylindrical extrusions of varying diameters (PKR-2) and in the form of thin-walled single-hole rings (PKR-3).
Operating parameters
- Temperature [°C]: 750 ÷ 940
- Pressure [bar]: max. 13
- Load [kg N-m-2-day-1]: max. 75000
Operational advantages
- High and stable activity to decompose N2Oup to 95%,
- High selectivity; the catalyst does not break down nitric oxide (NO) and causes an increase in the conversion rate of NH3 to NO,
- Low and stable pressure drops,
- high mechanical strength.
