Hop extract is used in brewing, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
Characteristics
Hop extract is a concentrated extract of resinous bitter substances, hop oils and tannins contained in hop cones. It is characterized by high stability, showing no changes in composition, even with long-term storage. It does not contain nitrates, pesticides, as well as polar bittering substances that cause, among other things: aging of beer.
Content of hop resins in the extract, % by weight:
- total resins to 97,
- Soft resins up to 93 (α-acids up to 49, β-fraction up to 44),
- Hard resins up to 4.
Production of plant extracts obtained using carbon dioxide under supercritical conditions meets the requirements of the standard HACCP Codex Alimentarius.
