Biomethane is fuel of the future, ensuring green energy and above all the energy safety and self-sufficiency. Although the biomethane market is steadily growing in the European Union, there is no biomethane plant in Poland and the biogas market is one of the smallest in Europe.
To face these challenges, the Polish Biomethane Organisation was founded in September 2022 associating sectoral experts and leaders of fuel, energy and heating companies in Poland.
Łukasiewicz – Instytut Nowych Syntez Chemicznych joined the Organization at the beginning of March 2023. The issue of biomethane is consistent with the scope of activities and competences of the Institute. Owing to this, the Institute can contribute to the development of new technologies regarding biomass processing, biogas purification and the use of biomethane which has the effect on the development of sustainable economy.
