After almost two months since being awarded ROBOCOOP, \u0141ukasiewicz – INS has been granted another European Project, this time the one within the LIFE programme. The DIMITRA titled: \u2018\u2019The use of digestate in bio-fertilizers for environmentally friendly agriculture\u201d is the joint venture implemented by partners from Greece, Italy, Cyprus and Poland. The initiative aims at improving the practices regarding management of agriculture by valorisation of digestate from biogas production process for bio-fertilizers of high agricultural value.<\/p>\n

\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 INS will develop fertilizer formulas based of streams of raw materials formed as by-products in the biogas plants. The proposed technological solutions will be tested in the demonstration plants in Greece and Italy. The produced batches of bio-fertilizers will be validated in fields of the selected arable lands. The Project Coordinator is the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA, Greece). In \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 INS, the project will be implemented in Fertilizer Research Group by Associate Professor Piotr Rusek and Krzysztof Borowik PhD. The entire period of project realization is 56 months and its budget amounts to EUR 3 798 579.<\/p>\n
