The conference “Science and industry – challenges and opportunities” has ended

On June 4-6, 2024, the International Conference Science and industry – challenges and opportunities was held in Lublin and Puławy, a continuation of the previously organized Symposium “Science and industry – spectroscopic methods in practice, new challenges and opportunities”.

The event gathered over 100 participants from Poland and abroad from the fields of exact and natural sciences, engineering and technology, medical and health sciences, and agriculture who discussed the latest achievements in their fields.

On June 5, 2024, as a co-organizer of the conference, Łukasiewicz – INS hosted conference participants in the Puławy Science and Technology Park. The event was opened by dr. hab. Paweł Kowalik and the sessions were led by dr. hab. Monika Wawrzkiewicz and dr hab. Anna Wołowicz. Among the speakers were employees of our Institute: dr. Katarzyna Tyśkiewicz was presenting the antifungal properties from clove extract, Agnieszka Myka was talking about the characteristics of polihalite and dr. Anna Zdunek was presenting research results on the removal of fluoride ions from ammonium sulfate(VI) solutions.

The event was organized by the Institute of Chemical Sciences of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (UMCS), the Polish Chemical Society and the Łukasiewicz Research Network – New Chemical Syntheses Institute.
