On the 12th of October 2023, the contract for erection and start-up of the plant for separation of hydrogen from coke gas was signed in the coke plant Koksownia Przyjaźń in Dąbrowa Górnicza. The consortium composed of the following members will be responsible for the realisation of the project: the Institute of Energy and Fuel Processing in Zabrze – as the leader and the Łukasiewicz Research Network – New Chemical Synthesis Institute – as a Partner. During the meeting, Łukasiewicz – INS was represented by Bartosz Moszowski, Director of NitroSynCat R&D Centre.
The erected plant will be used for obtaining of hydrogen with quality meeting the criteria of ISO 14687:2019 norm which specifies the type and class of fuel PEM (z ang. proton exchange membrane). The plant’s capacity will be 0.5 kg H2. This is a very unique project in the European coke industry.
The total value of the Project is PLN 10 929 600,00. The lead time for realisation of the Project is 24 months.
We believe that experts of Łukasiewicz – INS in the scope of decarbonation will be able to use their experience and developed solutions to help other business partners in green transformation.
