Crystallization is the key process used in chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and it is also the most common method of producing the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API). Yearly International Symposium on Industrial Crystallization ISIC, which took place in Glasgow in the UK, attracted researchers and producers of advanced research equipment and representatives of industry.
Such events provide the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest trends and research carried out by the leading researchers and opportunity to discuss and enter into cooperation with well-known Centre for Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallisation (CMAC) – one of the sponsors of this event.
During Symposium, researchers of Inorganic Chemistry Research Group from Gliwice: prof. dr hab. inż. Piotr Synowiec and dr inż. Magdalena Stec, presented research results “Fertilizer grade magnesium sulphate from flue gas desulfurization” and “Analysis of the US assistance on nucleation and the crystal size during the precipitation process in the selected reactors”. The discussed issues attracted great interest and the knowledge gained during lectures will inspire our researchers to develop new research areas.
