On 14.09 – 16.09.2022, the meeting was held in Montenegro under the international initiative Eureka titled ‘High value-added products with the use of biologically active substances originating from supercritical plant-based extracts GREENTECH’, the aim of which was to present the stages of research works completed so far.
Representatives of Łukasiewicz – INS including Katarzyna Tyśkiewicz, Edward Rój and Marcin Konkol representative of Prowana – Mr Grzegorz Rowicki participated in this meeting. Professor Vanja Tadić (Dr Josif Pančic Institute) and Profesor Ivana Nedić (Niš University) who represented the Serbian partner also took part in the meeting. The meeting was organized by Professor Biljana Damjanović-Vratnica with researchers from University in Montenegro.
The task of Łukasiewicz – INS is to develop the supercritical extraction technology for extraction of plant-based materials (curcuma, acai, rosemary, bay leaf, sea buckthorn) as additives for food industry of the specified chemical composition and anti-oxidising properties. Prowana will develop and implement new formulations dedicated for production of drinks and nutraceuticals based on supercritical extracts or their mixtures enhanced with biologically active compounds which will be launched onto the market as products for boosting immunological system via digestive system. Prowana will develop and implement new formulations dedicated for production of drinks and nutraceuticals based on supercritical extracts or their mixtures enhanced with biologically active compounds which will be launched onto the market as products for boosting immunological system via digestive system. Serbian Partners carry out research on the use of different method of encapsulation of plant-based extracts in order to improve their assimilability for oral use and for the application through skin. Partners from Montenegro carry out research on new methods for preserving food mainly for the production of cottage cheese.
This project meeting was also the occasion to discuss future project plans and research. The subsequent Eureka project titled : “Natural products as the base for balanced products” will star this year in cooperation with University of Montenegro.
